From Our Farms to Your Home

Sursari was born from a simple vision - to revive the traditional art of making pure desi ghee using the authentic Bilona method, while supporting local farmers and preserving our rich agricultural heritage.

Our journey began in the heartland of Madhya Pradesh, where we witnessed the gradual disappearance of traditional ghee-making practices. We realized that modern methods, while efficient, compromised the nutritional value and authentic taste that our ancestors cherished.

Today, we work directly with small-scale farmers who raise indigenous desi cows in natural, stress-free environments. These cows graze on organic pastures, producing milk that's rich in A2 protein and essential nutrients.

Every jar of Sursari ghee tells a story - of tradition preserved, of farmers empowered, and of purity uncompromised.

Traditional Methods

We preserve the ancient Bilona technique, hand-churning butter in small batches to retain maximum nutritional value and authentic flavor.

Our Traditional Process

Fresh Desi Cow Milk

We source fresh A2 milk from indigenous desi cows raised in natural environments with organic feed.

Curdling & Setting

The milk is naturally curdled and set overnight to form thick, creamy yogurt (dahi).

Hand-Churning

Using wooden churners (bilona), we hand-churn the yogurt to separate butter (makkhan).

Slow Simmering

The butter is slowly simmered at low heat until the pure ghee separates, releasing its golden hue and rich aroma.
